I have recently been experimenting with creating an Image to Structure and Structure to Image OpenCL based Quartz Composer compositions. Given the use of intervening processes whereby image or structure can be further altered and modified, either deliberately or randomly, the Quartz Composer output of Quartz Image and Quartz 3D Mesh results in an infinite variety of potential outputs.
This is a setup that is still a work in progress; it works well with either video, still image or slides.
My intention is to bundle this out for a plugin, if I can get the parameters working right, but it will probably work nicely as a Quartz Builder application. I’ve just finished offline rendering a first cut working upon some footage found of rivers to accompany a song by a recently deceased friend of mine, Mik Pinder.
